Swizzels Parma Violets Review

I bought these in the Swizzels Scrumptious Sweets pack which costs £1.98 and you get around 351 grams of a variety of Swizzels sweets. I have loved Parma Violets since I was a child, so you know exactly that this review is going to be positive. They have an absolutely amazingly nostalgic floral taste to them and they get better the more you eat them!

Taste and Texture

The Parma Violets are great when you get a roll which hasn't been damaged or crushed. Sometimes; I find that they are really fragile and it's a bit annoying to take one out and it's already cut into thirds or fourths. Nonetheless, biting into these releases a strong floral taste. It's slightly medicinal, but I would say in a very satisfyingly sweet way.

Though the texture is a bit less great as they're not like the fizzers so it does feel a bit gritty which isn't hidden by any fizzing. Though; I do find that the taste does release the more you eat these. Despite that though, it will never get overpowering. The flavour is very gentle and I feel like the taste can be more described as a perfume without any bitterness and a slight wonderful sweetness to it.

I find that Parma Violets, personally, are better when you get the big ones as they're less likely to be broken when you buy them and they won't be as messy as the smaller packs.

Conclusion

Overall, I found that the Parma Violets is an immensely unique sweet. It's different as it's floral but that really adds to the appeal. It's basically just a flower in a sweet and tablet form; slightly medicinal but absolutely delicious! It stands out in this way as it really can't be compared to any other sweet. While the texture is gritty and it is fragile; the flavour just absolutely makes up for those shortcomings!
