Swizzels Drumstick Lollies Review

The Swizzels Drumstick Lollies costs around £1.98 for 351 grams in the Swizzels Scrumptious Sweets pack. I really enjoyed these despite the fact that their flavour is not the strongest. It has an amazingly chewy and melt-in the mouth texture which doesn't feel too hard like the Swizzels Refreshers.

Taste and Texture

I find the raspberry and milk flavour being nice. It's got the right amount of creaminess and then the raspberry isn't tangy but sweet instead. It's a bit like you're eating a raspberry milkshake in lollipop form. However, these are considerably better than the Swizzels Refreshers. They last a lot longer in your mouth and the chewiness is vastly less hard too so it doesn't feel like a chore if you decide to chew the drumstick rather than letting it melt.

I find it creates a bit of heat in your mouth as you chew the drumstick that adds to the experience of it. It's also not something that's going to make it difficult to move your teeth as you chew it. I found it very substantial as it's much better than a sweet that is gone the moment you pop it in your mouth while also not being entirely like a lollipop as it's chewy too so you have the option to eat it faster and enjoy the mouthfeel of that.

The flavour does stay for a while in your mouth as an aftertaste and I would argue that the aftertaste is ironically stronger than the actual flavour in this.

Conclusion

Overall, the Swizzels Drumstick Lollies are one of the better sweets in the Swizzels range. While the flavour isn't really strong, the creamy raspberry taste and chewiness make it an extraordinarily enjoyable sweet. It has great balance between being a lolly and having chew. The warmth that builds as you chew and the lingering aftertastes make this surprisingly pleasant and moreish.
