Swizzels Double Lollies Review

The Swizzels Double Lollies cost around £1.98 in the Swizzels Scrumptious Sweets pack which comes with around 351 grams of Swizzels variety. I find these generally average, especially compared to Swizzels other sweets, but they are still really nice to eat.

Taste and Texture

These look way smaller than I had imagined them being the last time I had them which was years ago. The texture when you suck on the lollipop is a bit like sherbet mixed with cornstarch. It's not that bad of a texture as it sounds though I don't really like it when you bite into it so I find these are best left in the mouth until fully dissolved. In that way you can fully savour the sweetness too.

It doesn't exactly have a particular taste other than what you would imagine powdered sugar and cornstarch together would taste like. Like sherbet but powderier. I don't really find any variety with the flavours of these as they barely do anything to the dominant sherbet taste. Yet, the closest texture/material I can pin it to is chalk.

The biggest downside to these lollies is that the wrapping can either be easy to take off or absolutely absurdly difficult to open. The lollipop itself is not brittle at all and is very hard and will turn into powder if you bite into it.

Conclusion

Overall, I found that the Swizzels Double Lollies are not the best of the Swizzels sweets but they are nonetheless okay. They have a powdery-sherbet taste and a texture that is chalky but not really for everyone. I find that it's somewhere between being satisfying and odd. It does have inconsistent wrapping and a chalky bite which may be an issue for some people. I would honestly rate them 3/5. Not bad but not good either. Just average.
