Seabrook Prawn Cocktail Crisps Review

Posted on October 22, 2025

The Seabrook Prawn Cocktail Crisps cost £1.38 for 6 bags. I found that they are extremely disappointing and one of the lowest quality prawn cocktail crisps on the market. It's not strong even though the smell of the crisps are quite permeating while they are just greasier than you'd like and leave your hands oily.

Taste and Texture

These have a strong smell when you open the pack, it's definitely prawn cocktail. Furthermore, it doesn't smell artificial that I find with some other prawn cocktail crisp brands. However, as I put it into my mouth, I feel disappointed. The taste is not as strong as the smell leads it onto being. It doesn't have the intense prawn taste that you would expect and it just tastes weak.

The crunch and crispiness of the crisps are generally good as with most of the Seabrook crisps. Though they are quite much greasier than their other crisps, bar the Sea Salted variant which is much oilier. I also found that some of them just don't have any of the seasoning on them. This is disappointing as usually they are evenly coated with Seabrook. I did not enjoy tasting just the potato and oil in some of these crisps.

Ingredients and Nutritional Information

Ingredients: Potatoes, Vegetable Oils (Sunflower, Rapeseed, in varying proportions), Sugar, Acidity Regulator: Sodium Diacetate, Icing Sugar, Rice Flour, Sea Salt, Yeast Extract, Onion Powder, Salt, Colour: Paprika Extract, Acid: Citric Acid; Flavouring.

Nutritional Information per bag (25g): 126 calories, 7.2g fat (0.6g saturates), 13.3g carbohydrates (0.8g sugars), 1.5g protein, 0.4g salt.

Conclusion

Overall, the Seabrook Prawn Cocktail Crisps are just not good at all. They do deliver an authentic prawn cocktail smell to them along with the usual Seabrook crunch but the flavour is just bad. It's weak and inconsistent. The greasiness makes them really unpleasant to eat as well and the uneven seasoning just adds to the disappointment.
