Sainsbury's Salt & Vinegar Crisps Review

The Sainsbury's Salt & Vinegar Crisps cost £1.10 for a pack of six and are one of the most awful packs of crisps that they sell. They taste not like vinegar but more like stomach bile. The crisps are inconsistent with each batch and the seasoning is just inconsistent too. It's something that I have to warn should be avoided right away.

Taste and Texture

Upon opening the pack; instantaneously there is an extremely strong acidic aroma. Though after eating a single chip, I notice it tastes less of vinegar and has more of an acidic stomach bile taste to it. The taste is so awful; I get happy when I bite into one of the crisps that have less of the seasoning. The seasoning is quite inconsistent with these as well which just makes it better as the taste is bad. So, I'd rather not taste it.

Texture-wise I feel like I have gotten a bad batch and the potatoes they used for this one are slightly thicker than the other crisps they do. It makes it feel a bit chewier and less crunchy. They also feel really greasy when you're handling them so it's just an uncomfortable experience entirely with these. If you're trying to save money by buying these; I just have to suggest that you go with Lidl's or Aldi's salt and vinegar. They are generally much better and don't taste like bile.

Nutritional Information per pack (25g): 132 calories, 7.8g fat (0.7g saturates), 13.5g carbohydrates (less than 0.5g sugar), 0.8g fibre, 1.5g protein, 0.26g salt.

Conclusion

Overall, the Sainsbury's Salt and Vinegar Crisps are just a disappointing product. They have an intensely unpleasant and bile-like flavour. It also has inconsistent seasoning and is much noticeably thicker along with a less crunchy and more chewy texture. It is just unrecommendable at its current state.
