The Sainsbury's Stamford Street Co. 4 Double Roll 2-Ply Tissue costs £1.61 is a super budget double sized toilet roll set. It has a much softer than average feel than other two-ply supermarket options and lasts almost the same time as 8 packs or even longer.

Performance and Efficacy

These rolls do last a lot longer than other rolls on the market and they come without the awful gritty (or sandpaper like) texture like Lidl's cheap rolls. It does look quite thin when you see at first but it's actually strong. Though it doesn't work well when you have runnier poos as sometimes the poop will go through the toilet tissue. I do layer the toilet paper to prevent this from happening, though it defeats the purpose of double size.

It's almost the same price as other supermarket toilet tissues which give double the rolls but it lasts around the same time and they use a lot less space because they're more compacted. They are not exactly going to be nice feeling though as they are just two ply and are less plush than three ply options. But you are saving money at the cost of the comfort.

Generally, you will be sacrificing softness for affordability and roll length but the softness is much better than its competitors at the same price. Aldi's similarly priced toilet tissue doesn't absorb as well as these and Lidl's similarly priced options feel like your wiping sandpaper while wiping. I believe Sainsburys has made the most comfortable supermarket brand toilet paper.
