Sainsburys Raisin Nut and Honey Granola Review

Posted on September 19, 2025

The Sainsbury's Raisin, Nut and Honey Granola costs £2.20 for around a kilogram of granola. You get quite a lot for the price though I don't really find it that great on the mouthfeel or value at all. There are other granolas for a similar price that give you more fruit and nut than this one.

Taste and Texture

It's pleasantly sweet and I find that it doesn't overwhelm the palate. You can taste the honey quite well and it really adds to the granola if you're using whole milk. For the raisins, though, I find that there's not enough in the granola. When you put the granola into a bowl and add the milk there is usually around three to five raisins when I had expected there to be at least 10 to 18. The sudden fruity taste from the raisins is nice; it also has a slightly chewy texture to it contrasting with the crunchiness of the granola.

The nuts in this have the same issues; there's just not enough of them in the granola. I feel like the 'raisin and nut' aspect is minimal and it's just honey oats. This just makes the mouthfeel less exciting when you compare it to other granolas with more fruit. It also has less larger clusters as the oats are not as clumpy; I do feel like this makes it one dimensional as you have stray granola floating everywhere in the milk.

Ingredients and Nutritional Information

Ingredients: Oat Flakes, Sugar, Raisins (6%), Palm Oil, Honey (3.5%), Almonds (2.5%), Sunflower Seeds, Desiccated Coconut, Sugar Syrup Powder.

Conclusion

Overall, I found that the Sainsbury's Raisin, Nut and Honey Granola is underwhelming and quite disappointing. While you get a good amount of sweetness and honey flavour; there's a lack of raisins, nuts and larger clusters that make it feel sparse and one dimensional compared to other granolas at a similar price. The fairly plain texture means it just doesn't have variety or satisfaction that you would expect. It's fine if you just want a basic honey oat granola, but if you're looking for something richer and more balanced then you should look elsewhere.
