Sainsburys British Semi Skimmed Milk Review
Posted on September 17, 2025
The Sainsburys British Semi Skimmed Milk costs £1.65 and is generally an amazing semi-skimmed milk when compared to other supermarket milks. It doesn't go off as fast as the others and has a slightly sweeter taste to it too. Though it is not creamy or rich as its semi-skimmed it is quite delicious.
Taste and Texture
The milk tastes very clean and mild. It's got a slightly sweet taste to it; I find it more sweet than other semi-skimmed milks from Aldi or Lidl. There's not really any after taste to the milk and we've had it open in the fridge longer than other milks like from Aldi or Lidl and it didn't spoil as easily.
The milk is very smooth though it's not rich or creamy as expected with a semi-skimmed milk. I find this milk best to be used in drinks, or into lattes, as its sweeter and you won't need to use as much sugar if you use it.
It lasts longer than their full fat milk so it's a better option if you're not that bothered about the creaminess of the milk. I also find that there's no leakage from the packaging and it is not as fragile as other supermarket milks.
Nutritional Information per 100ml: 1.8g fat (1.1g saturates), 4.8g carbohydrates (4.8g sugars), less than 0.5g fibre, 3.6g protein, 0.11g salt, 0.14mg riboflavin, 31.0μg iodine, 161mg potassium, 124mg calcium.
Conclusion
Overall, the Sainsbury's British Semi Skimmed Milk is a really refreshing choice. It's different in that it tastes much sweeter which pivots it better to usage in drinks. While it does lack the creaminess of whole milk, it has a smooth texture and a quite long shelf life when compared to supermarket competitors. It is just £1.65 for 4 pints that gives it both value and quality making it a great choice if you're looking for milk that you can use without worrying about spoilage as much.
