Lidl Tower Gate Mint Arctic Bars Review

The Lidl Tower Gate Mint Arctic Bars costs £1.29 which you get around 8 bars in each pack. They are absolutely divine and they are exactly like the Penguin mint bars. The flavour, texture and the chocolate are amazing too. The biscuit base is pleasant but slightly crumbly.

Taste and Texture

These bars are Lidl's version of the Penguin bar and they taste almost the same to the Penguin Mint bars. I did find that the mint flavour in the cream absolutely delicious! It tastes just like the mint in an after eight chocolates, very refreshing and quite a strong mint flavour. The mint flavour is not overpowering at all and is really a pleasant taste as you can still taste the chocolate with it.

Texture-wise, the biscuit base is really crispy and crunchy while it blends into your mouth with the creamy filling giving the bar quite a bit of contrast. Though, I would have preferred the cream filling to be much bigger due to how delicious it tastes. The chocolate coating does melt easily though so it's best to chill when the weather is hot or you're in a warm area. The biscuit base is slightly crumbly but it's not awfully crumbly so it will make a small mess but nothing unmanageable.

Overall, the Lidl Tower Gate Mint Arctic Bars are an absolutely amazing budget friendly bar that is great with flavour and texture. They have a strong yet refreshing mint flavour pairs perfectly with the chocolate coating while the crunchy biscuit base and creamy filling make it have great contrast with each bite. Though it does have a few faults that its chocolate coating melts easily and the biscuit is slightly crumbly; these are only minor drawbacks compared to the overall quality.
