Lidl Snack Day Salt and Malt Vinegar Ridge Cut Crisps Review

Posted on September 15, 2025

The Lidl Snack Day Salt and Malt Vinegar Ridge Cut Crisps costs £1.35 and comes with a pack of six crisps. The taste of the vinegar and smell is much stronger than expected. It's quite sharp and does not have a nice texture after you finish the pack as the seasoning feels dusty and dries out the mouth.

Taste and Texture

The smell from these is much stronger than the other Snack Day Lidl crisps. However, before opening these, I recommend shaking the pack a bit as Lidl crisps usually is not evenly coated with seasoning. I did, however, find that this batch had a good amount of coating so it's not bad at all.

The vinegar is very sharp though and hits you instantly and the texture on the crisps are a bit dusty and the vinegar dries the mouth. It's not really a nice feeling to have while eating these. However, it masks the potato of the crisps entirely with its flavour which is perfect.

These are also super crunchy though the texture is slightly let down by the dustiness and the fact that these crisps make your tongue very tingly and dry. It's also very acidic so after eating the whole pack I really can't feel my mouth and it starts to taste like vomit when you swallow after chewing them up.

Ingredients and Nutritional Information

Ingredients: Potatoes, Vegetable Oils in Varying Proportions (Rapeseed, Sunflower), Salt and Vinegar Flavour Seasoning (Rice Flour, Salt, Sugar, Potato Maltodextrin, Acidity Regulator: Sodium Diacetate; Flavouring, Acid: Citric Acid; Yeast Extract).

Nutritional Information per bag (30g): 154 calories, 8.9g fat (0.8g saturates), 15.8g carbohydrates (less than 0.5g sugars), 1.6g fibre, 1.8g protein, 0.45g salt.

Conclusion

The Lidl Snack Day Salt and Malt Vinegar Ridge Cut Crisps are generally better than their other Snack Day Ridge Cut crisps but still has its issues. It has a sharp and immediate vinegar taste that some might enjoy but it becomes overwhelming and leaves a dry dusty feel in your mouth. While the crunch of the ridge cut crisps are satisfying; the coating's acidity and intensity can give you an unpleasant aftertaste if eaten in large amounts.
