Lidl Knightsbridge Turmeric with Ginger Tea Review

The Lidl Knightsbridge Turmeric with Ginger Tea costs £1.59 for only 20 bags. It generally feels awful in value as you're getting something that has an awfully weak ginger hit along with not really much turmeric. Even after continued steeping; the ginger doesn't contribute anything to the tea.

Taste and Texture

The turmeric is quite weak in this but it is generally fine as turmeric tends to be overpoweringly strong. It is very mild but I do find that the ginger is quite weak which is usually with Lidl's Knightsbridge teas that contain ginger. I do not like how weak the ginger is as I usually expect a kick from herbal teas with it. As the tea is generally weak, I just keep the tea bag inside of the water to continue steeping while I drink it.

Still, with extended steeping, the ginger just does not contribute any spice to it at all. However, it's quite expensive just for twenty bags of tea and to have this weak of a flavour at that price is quite terrible. Furthermore, the bags are easily broken so you can't really stir it at all. It's just way too fragile and ripping them off (as they come in connected in twos) sometimes breaks them so I have to use a scissor on them to make them evenly cut.

Ingredients: 33% Turmeric, 31% Ginger, 12% Nettle Leaves, 10% Galangal, 10% Liquorice Root, 2% Burdock Root, 2% Natural Orange Flavouring.

Conclusion

Overall, the tea is just not worth it for the price. You're just getting a watered-down turmeric tea which you can generally make at home at way less of the price it costs to just buy 20 bags. It's disappointing like most of Lidl's Knightsbridge teas and it just doesn't have any strength to the ginger at all. It's just underpowered and just feels cheap despite being quite costly for twenty bags.
