:Diablo Sugar Free Extra Dark Cocoa Cookie with Vanilla Cream Review

Posted on September 21, 2025

The :Diablo Sugar Free Extra Dark Cocoa Cookie with Vanilla Cream costs £1.90 and they're really something that you shouldn't waste your money on. It contains 66g of carbohydrates for only 100g which really isn't that great if you're getting these for the sugar free benefit.

Taste and Texture

Wow, this is a super dry replica of an Oreo cookie. There is also a slight gritty texture when you're eating these which isn't really nice at all. I can barely taste the vanilla flavouring if there is any as the filling is just way too thin compared to the biscuit base. I can taste only the cocoa in these.

It is a crunchy cookie but it's also not overly hard at all either. The biscuit also falls apart very easily along with having a smooth centre. Due to the cocoa content the biscuit will crumble a lot and it does create a powdery feel in the mouth as you eat it. Luckily; the sweeteners don't dominate the aftertaste with these. Instead, the cocoa lingers in the mouth which isn't bad.

Again, as with the other :Diablo products it really isn't 'sugar free' as the carbohydrates will eventually become sugar (as it contains flour). It also contains maltitol which is one of the worst artificial sweeteners as it causes digestive issues and bloating. Also, do note that there is no mention of 'Natural Flavouring' but rather just 'Vanilla Flavour'. It could potentially be artificial; it is not noted anywhere on the packing.

Conclusion

The :Diablo Sugar Free Extra Dark Cocoa Cookie with Vanilla Cream is marketed as a healthier alternative but it really doesn't live up to that at all. It contains wheat flour which will still be problematic for people with diabetes as it will turn to sugar over time. It has a weak vanilla flavour, a gritty and overly dry texture and while the cocoa taste does pleasantly linger; the thin filling, potential digestive issues from maltitol and the lack of clarity surrounding the flavouring makes it difficult to recommend the product. Especially at how expensive it is too while it uses a cheap artificial sweetener (maltitol).
