:Diablo No Added Sugar Coated Milk Chocolate Buttons Review
Posted on September 24, 2025
The :Diablo No Added Sugar Coated Milk Chocolate Buttons cost £1.40 for a single tube of 22g which is expensive for what you get. The taste isn't great and the chocolate inside is just overshadowed by the aftertaste of the artificial sweeteners (maltitol). It also uses maltitol which would make it give digestive issues to some people and isn't really a great sugar substitute either.
Taste and Texture
These are almost like Smarties. I found that the outside coating tastes exactly the same as them but when you start biting into them you can taste the artificial sweetener rather than the chocolate. It's not really the nicest taste as it's not chocolate and it just tastes like you're eating the sweetener rather than any milk chocolate flavour.
I had to concentrate on them as I was eating them to taste the chocolate; it tastes really cheap and more artificial than actual chocolate. When you eat multiple of them together it's really not sweet at all and there's more of the coating colouring flavour than anything else. It's really bad.
However, I do find that they are crunchy. The crunchy texture is really satisfying but it's really not going to help save it at all as the flavour just isn't there and it tastes bad as I don't want to taste only the coating.

Conclusion
Overall, :Diablo No Added Sugar Coated Milk Chocolate Buttons are really disappointing in flavour and value. It's expensive and just doesn't give you what you'd expect; something along the lines of smarties but instead you get the aftertaste of the maltitol only. The crunchy texture of the coating is, in fact, enjoyable but the artificial sweetness from the maltitol just dominates the palate. Instead of tasting creamy or delicious; it's just artificial.
