:Diablo No Added Sugar 80% Dark Chocolate with Stevia Review

Posted on September 21, 2025

The :Diablo No Added Sugar 80% Dark Chocolate with Stevia costs £2.30 and is generally a terrible value chocolate bar. It pushes the idea it's 'with stevia' but on the back of the pack you find that its majority sweetened with maltitol. A cheaper sweetener which causes GI problems and well; makes you gassy and bloated. Not a nice feeling if you eat too much.

Taste and Texture

The chocolate bar is extremely fragile and just breaks easily. When I opened the pack; the entire bar was already shattered which leads me on to find that it's not really the best quality chocolate. Especially as it advertises itself as 'with sweetener from stevia'. This is not only misleading as it only contains 0.02% stevia compared to being mostly maltitol (the maltitol comes first in the ingredients list then stevia). It's an absolute disappointment from the first viewing.

The taste really isn't that great either. You have that strange taste that you usually get from any chocolates made with artificial polyol-based sweeteners. It masks the chocolate and there's also barely any bitterness to the dark chocolate compared to other dark chocolates on the market (even Lidl and Aldi have better bitterness in theirs).

The only good thing I can really credit these for is that the texture is actually not bad. It melts in your mouth and has a nice snap and breaks down easily. However, this is really pushed back from the issues as you eat these the taste from the sweeteners becomes more and more apparent. Then it has this slightly weird feel in your throat like you have a sore throat after swallowing these. The sweetener aftertaste just doesn't go away and it just doesn't taste like dark chocolate at all. It's actually gross.

Overall, the :Diablo No Added Sugar 80% Dark Chocolate with Stevia is just terrible. It is both expensive and doesn't really follow through with stevia; instead, just using mostly maltitol, which for the record: an awful sweetener. The bar just makes you have digestive problems and intense bloating which isn't a comfortable feeling at all. The flavour is also awful as it lacks the depth and bitterness, you'd expect for at least a £2.30 dark chocolate bar.
