:Diablo Milk Chocolate Bubble Bar with Stevia Sweetener Review

Posted on September 21, 2025

The :Diablo Milk Chocolate Bubble Bar with Stevia Sweetener costs £1.20 for a 30g bar which seems excessively priced for a bar that mostly uses maltitol not stevia as its main alternate sweetener.

Taste and Texture

This does taste like chocolate but the taste is quite thin and it has a slight gritty texture to it. The chocolate melts quite well in the mouth and the sweetness is good as it's not too sweet to be heavy. However, I do find that the airy texture is not really there. The air holes in this are much smaller than you would find in an aero chocolate bar. It more crumbles than actually feeling like you're biting into an airy chocolate bar.

The chocolate's flavour doesn't really linger in your mouth and then you're met with the aftertaste of the sweeteners used in the product. There's a slight metallic tinge to it which discourages me to eat the rest of the bar as it has a slightly cooling feel too. It doesn't really make the bar that exciting as it's chocolate not menthol.

It does, however, contains maltitol which isn't really the best sugar alternative to use. It is cheap and that's why I believe they used it but it causes bloating and potentially diarrhoea when consumed in excess which doesn't take much consumption as I've found.

Ingredients and Nutritional Information

Ingredients: Sweeteners (Maltitol, Steviol Glycosides), cocoa butter, whole milk powder, skimmed milk powder, fibre (inulin), concentrated butter, whey powder, emulsifiers (soya lecithin and E476) and flavouring.

Nutritional Information per serving (30g): 143 calories, 9.6g fat (5.7g saturates), 16g carbohydrates (2.9g sugars, 14g polyols), 1.6g fibre, 2.4g protein, 0.07g salt.

Conclusion

Overall, the Diablo Milk Chocolate Bubble Bar with Stevia Sweetener is an expensive compromise than a satisfying alternative to a standard chocolate bar. It does provide nice light sweetness that isn't overwhelming but the thin flavour, gritty mouthfeel and the lack of a true 'bubble' texture makes it underwhelming compared to aero bars. The metallic aftertaste from the sweeteners coupled with the use of maltitol, which causes unpleasant digestive effects, makes it less appealing.
