Aldi Snackrite Salt and Vinegar Crunchy Sticks Review

Posted on September 06, 2025

The Aldi Snackrite Salt and Vinegar Crunchy Sticks cost £2.69 in a 24 pack and are an okay salt and vinegar snack. They have a strong aroma once you open the pack and they do make your tongue have a weird sensation after eating these. The flavour of vinegar is not too strong but it has a powdery texture which isn't the greatest.

Taste and Texture

Okay, on opening the pack I'm met with a super strong aroma of the vinegar. It just whiffs out of the pack like crazy which instantly suggests these are going to be sour. Surprisingly, they are not too sour which is great; its just right in the acidity. They're also quite crunchy but the crunch dies down a bit as you go through it then it melts in your mouth.

I kept one in my mouth for a bit longer and I could taste a slight sweetness to it which makes it not so sharp when you're eating them. However, I couldn't really taste much of the salt in this and it leans towards the vinegar entirely. The seasoning also comes off a bit powdery which creates a strange film around the tongue (which thankfully doesn't last long).

I also found that the sour aftertaste doesn't last long and it's quite clean. Though I did find my tongue was slightly tingly after eating these which might mean that the acidity was strong but I might (and others who prefer these) be more used to that acidity.

Conclusion

Overall, these are a mixed experience. They come at a budget friendly price and give a unmistakably strong vinegar aroma. While the acidity is not overwhelming and even has a subtle sweetness to it; the flavour leans heavily towards vinegar with the salt only playing a minor role. The crunch is quite decent but then fades into a melt in the mouth texture. The powdery coating and tongue tingling feel this gives might also be an instant put off as it's uncomfortable to experience while eating.
