Lidl Snaktastic Roast Chicken Crisps Review

Posted on August 04, 2025

The Lidl Snaktastic Roast Chicken Crisps cost £1.75 and come from the Meaty Variety Multipack which also includes their Cheese and Onion flavour. The crisps have an okay texture but there's unfortunately a lot of charred crisps in this brand.

Taste and Texture

The taste in these crisps, I would say, potentially rivals the Walkers version of the Roast Chicken. It has a very roast chicken umami flavour. Unfortunately, however, I find that there is a lack of seasoning on most of the crisps and it doesn't seem evenly distributed.

There's also a nice amount of saltiness in the aftertaste; I find that it's not too much and just right that it gives a savoury kick to the crisps. However, there's really not much great things I can say about the texture in these crisps. A lot of them are burnt; they just look charred and cremated. The burnt ones give you a disgusting bitter taste when you bite into them (I got too curious) and they also seem to disintegrate as you put in your mouth.

Fortunately, I have not found a green crisp in these. I usually find one or two when I eat Walker's crisps. However, replacing the green ones with the charred ones isn't really a great trade. I wish they would improve this and it would be better than the Walkers version if they had an even consistency to the quality of the crisps.

Ingredients and Nutritional Information

Ingredients: Potatoes, Vegetable Oils in Varying Proportions (Rapeseed, Sunflower), Roast Chicken Flavour Seasoning (Maltodextrin, Salt, Yeast Extract, Onion Powder, Flavouring, Garlic Powder, Sugar, Potassium Chloride, Colour: Paprika Extract; Sage, Thyme Extract).

Nutritional Informational per bag (25g): 134 calories, 8.6g fat (0.9g saturates), 12.0g carbohydrates (less than 0.1g sugars), 1.6g fibre, 1.4g protein, 0.31g salt.

Conclusion

Overall, the Lidl Snaktastic Roast Chicken crisps are very affordable and have a delicious roast chicken flavour. However, the texture of these are not the best. There are dark and overcooked crisps in these packs which are unfortunate. If you want to find more consistent quality; Walkers still takes the crown.
