Lidl Snaktastic Cheese & Onion Crisps Review

Posted on July 18, 2025

The Snaktastic Cheese & Onion crisps from Lidl are from their multipacks, though this one is from their Meaty Variety multipack. I paid around £1.75 for the multipack and it's generally affordable.

Taste and Texture

As I pop one into my mouth, I am met with a satisfying crunch that follows with a sudden flavour punch. It has enough seasoning on the first crisp to make it taste nice and has an umami rich taste of cheese with subtle onion onto it. However, seasoning can vary; some of them in the pack didn't have much taste and tasted like potato while others had too much seasoning on them.

The texture is better than Walkers crisps as they are much thicker and thus the crunch is snappier and louder. Your bites on these are going to be more substantial and enjoyable.

I don't understand why this has been included in their Meaty Variety multipack as it's really not a meat, I've never heard of Cheese Meat or Onion Meat. I guess it's the umami flavour in these are counting towards that theme but it is quite strange, nonetheless.

Allergen Ingredients: Cheese Powder (Milk), Lactose (Milk), Whey Powder (Milk).

Nutritional Information per bag (25g): 132 calories, 7.7g fat (0.7g saturates), 13.4g carbohydrates (0.6g sugar), 1.2g fibre, 1.7g protein, 0.31g salt.

Conclusion

Overall, the Lidl Snaktastic Cheese and Onion crisps are generally enjoyable with a pleasing crunch and they have moderate flavour to them (averaging from the lacklustre bites to the overwhelming bites). This is honestly good value for the price. If you like thick crisps then you should generally consider getting these as it's something you will munch down on quickly.

I did find it quite quirky with its placement into the 'meaty' variety multipacks which is strange but it did make me pick it up so the marketing worked.
